Assistant Chief Nursing Officer
The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) assists the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in providing executive-level leadership and support in the administration, organization, and clinical management of the Nursing Department. This role involves oversight of critical services, including Emergency Services, Special Procedures, Trauma, Swing Bed, Utilization Review, Inpatient and Outpatient Services, Infection Control, Quality Assessment, Performance Improvement, and Employee Health programs. The ACNO ensures that nursing practices align with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining the highest standards of patient care across all service areas. The ACNO is vital in delivering trauma, emergency, and nursing services efficiently, effectively, and compassionately, while upholding excellence in patient care, compliance, and safety. In addition, the ACNO serves as the Trauma Program Manager (TPM) and Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator (PECC), playing a key role in leading trauma services, coordinating emergency care, and ensuring compliance with trauma center verification and designation standards.
Bachelor's Degree Required, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), related fields (MBA, MHA, MPH), or Doctoral Degree (DNP, PhD) preferred. • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), TNCC and PALS, or NRP if no PALS, and ENPC required within 180 days of hire. ABLS, and S.T.A.B.L.E. strongly encouraged but not required. Instructor certifications preferred.
